Interventions

At GeerLINKS, we believe that mediation is key to successful intervention for our students. A mediator (therapist) stands between a student and their area of weakness and gently leads their thinking towards their own discover of the answer. As the mediator intentionally guides the student in this discovery process, the lightbulb goes on and your child learns how to learn!

“The secret for success is not to teach content, but rather to impart learning and thinking strategies.” — Reuven Feuerstein, The Feuerstein Institute, Jerusalem

Whether your child has received a diagnosis in reading (dyslexia), writing (dysgraphia), and math (dyscalculia), or has been identified with ADHD, Autism, Sensory Disorder, Developmental Coordination Disorder or Global Developmental Delay, we believe that with direct intervention, they can reach their potential.

Our intervention programs are specifically chosen to guide your student on this path to success. Each program we offer has its own goal and its own purpose, each based on years of scientific research.

Our focus at GeerLINKS is to strengthen your child’s underlying areas of cognitive and perceptual areas of need rather than just accommodating their weaknesses. Each intervention is another step on the journey towards helping you support your child to reach their potential and beyond.

After an initial screening  assessment and follow up meeting, we will recommend an intervention plan that will help your child get on the path to success. We recognize that none of these are a quick fix solution, but instead, involves the triad of a parent, a therapist, and a student working together towards the goal of becoming an independent learner.
